** Snow Day ** LO

Hey all! Hope everyone has had a wonderful and happy Christmas Holiday! I got a chance to play along with one of the challenges that we have going on at Flying Unicorn. It's called "Let it snow, Let it snow" Hosted by Gerri Herbst. She has challenged us all to use snow in an LO or card. Very cool and fun LO to do. Remember to come on over and play along. There are many challegenes to play and plenty of RAK's that will be givin away.. You have a week left so hurry on over and start playing some!! Here is mine...
I used Maggie's tute on molding paste (you can find this tute, and many others over in the section of Flying Unicorn called Santa's workshop) on the snowflakes on CS behind photo. I also made my own mask and used gesso and mists ( lindy's and tattered angels). The PP I used is Authentique the Journey collection: PP names are Journey and Stroll. You can find these in our Flying Unicorn store. The Flowers used was Prima on the Med /Small flowers that are blue and the vine. The yellowish ones are SD's and the Cute little bitty flowers are Flying Unicorn flowers that is sold in our store. They are called "dorps of blue" I used a little bit of mist to enhance the color to match LO. Large snowflakes are CTMH and Large Clock face is Dusty Attic. I used seam binding that I colored as well and ran it through the little holes in the clock face. The mini snowflakes are spare parts and letters are by paper studio. How about some close ups?!
I created a tag for this title using those wonderful PP Authentique.. Next close up...

That little clock face is from the Prima wrapping that the Sparkly vine came in. Close up of those cute little bitty blooms as well, aren't they cute! I left the DA piece raw.. I loved how it worked with the LO that way.. Some times you don't have to do anything to them just let them be beautiful.. Next close up..

Beautiful blooms and vines.. The fluffy stuff under the vine is actually feathers. I thought that it help with the snowy look of the LO. I found it on a gift bag.. Nothing is safe from a scrapper LOL!! This LO is of my kiddos back in 09. Just one of those Snow Days that comes around. I decided the pic would work perfect for this challenge. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.. Don't forget to come on by the "Flying Unicorn" wonderful friendly place and plenty of inspiration! Good night and God bless!!

**TOOT!! Plus a Card and a Tag**

Hey, Everybody!! I have been invited to join the Creative Team at The Flying Unicorn!!! Oh my Goodness! This is a dream come true for me! I get to work with the fabulous team that is there and our fearless leader Denise. I am excited about this, cann you tell?! LOL Have lots to do and a bunch of things going on. The Christmas Party that we had was such a blast! We had a game called guess the designer. Were all the designers made something with this beautiful Santa image, that we have in our "Once upon a Picture" section. Here is the one that I made. I think only one guessed me. LOL
I used my cricut and cut the tag out and the PP (CTMH). The pearls are ZVA you can find these in the Flying Unicorn store. The lace is from Walley World and the ribbon is some from my stash. The little gifts is a old sticker strip, that I have cut into so many pieces that its not even funny! LOL The poinsettia and leaves are Prima.

I have also just completed a card for one of the many, and when I say many, I mean many challenges going on right now! The one that I did was for the challenge called "Play it Again Sam" hosted by Alda. This is a fun challenge were you take something that you would normally throw away and use it to make something. I just happened to have some stuffing in a gift box laying on my table (my kids often do that with boxes and stuff, because they know that I keep stuff like that). In this box was the remains of tissue paper that had a gift in it. Well I was just fixing to clear my desk, and throw that tissue paper away. Then it hit me to use it for this challenge. I made a poinsettia, berries, and a vine out of that tissue paper. There was gold tissue paper mixed with the red, and the gold was used for the vines. Here is the pic of that.
I used G45 PP "Christmas Emporium" colletion. This is sold in the Flying Unicorn store. I used MF ( Melissa Frances) resin pieces, the single gem in the center of the flower is CI (Creative Imaginations) self adhesive rhinestones. The card itself was cut out using my cricut. The ink and stamps that I used was CTMH. I used a MS punch and cut out the little holly leaves.

Thank you guys for stopping buy at taking a look! Come bye and see me at The Flying Unicorn I would be happy to see you there! Good night and God Bless!!

** Guest Designer for "The Flying Unicorn"**

Hello everyone! So I can shout my exciting news now!! I am proudly Guest Designing for the month of December for "The Flying Unicorn"!!! I am thrilled and honored to do this! I am also hosting a challenge (Tis the Season to be Tearing) as well as doing my tute for the flowers that I made (the tute will be on 12/17 so mark your calanders!). Alda is also giving away a Fab RAK for my challenge. How awesome is that?! Here is the LINK to the Flying Unicorn site. This place is chalked full of fun! So many things to do and be inspired by! So would ya like to see my LO for my challenge? I also made a card too!
This LO I did tearing in many places. The circle, bird image, leaves by the bird and even on the title area. The PP I used is by Creative Imaginations (sold at the Flying Unicorn store) also the matching Die cut shapes (sold at the Flying Unicorn Store). ZVA black flurishes, my hand made flowers, CTMH cardstock, Prima Cameo roses and Winter Vine, Lace and doily (walmart brand) and the ribbon I had in my stash. Under the Big bird image is a voice recorder that has my Grandmothers voice on it wishing me a "Merry Christmas". So this is quite literly my Christmas gift! I made 15 Lo's for my family last year and they all had the voice recorder on them. By the time I got to mine, I was tired of doing Christmas LO's. I'm glad that I waited though because this PP is perfect! Ok how about some close-ups?

This is a close up of the flower cluster at the top left.

This is a close-up of the bird and leaves that I hand tore. I love the effect that the tearing gives. Its almost like fussy cutting with water. I was really thrilled that I got the flowers to match! I used CTMH ink "smokey plum" and Lindy's "Scintillating Silver" to color them with. Next close-up..
This is a a better view of them glorious Die cuts. The bird and Brownish leaves. They look real don't they? I also Made a card with this BEAUTIFUL PP. Here it is..
On this I used the left over hand died Lace, CTMH Ribbon (green bow) and the CI die cuts and PP. The stamp is CTMH that I went over with some Liquid Glass to give it a embossed look. Also used my Cricut to cut out the card. So are ya ready for the Fab RAK that is being givin away for my Challenge?
It is CI Provencial and embellies!! So Cool!! Here is a Pic of that!

If you think that is awesome you should see the "Kit Of the Month" from the Flying Unicorn!! This kit is packed full of goodies!!!!! Here is the pic of that (ya may wanna get to the store fast because I don't think they will hang around long!!!

Isn't it AWESOME!! Be sure to hit the above link in my post and it will take you to the site. Click on store and KOM and it will take you to this wonderful slay of goodies!

**Birthday Kisses**

Hello everyone! Got a LO to share with ya! This is a LO that I done for the RR challenge over at Swirlydoos. Its of my Grandmother and her two great great granddaughters. She turned 88 and we had a little birthday celebration for her. This photo that I shot was very sweet moment and I just had to scrap it!
I wanted to keep everything soft in this LO including the title so that the picture would really pop. I used Kaisercraft "Bonjour collection". The flowers are a mixture of my own, Prima and Swirly flowers. The cutout at the bottom was made using my Cricut and the butterflies was cutout of the same PP. The letters of the title is CTMH, Walmart doily and ZVA pearl flurish. The overlay I'm not sure because I cut the MF off before I wrote it down.. Sorry.. How about some close-ups?

This close-up you can see another vine that I made and the prima flowers that I used. Oh and I will be announcing soon what date the tute will be available and where to find it for the flowers that go along with the vine.. LOL I can't wait to share my news with you guys!! I'm soooooo VERY excited! Ok got a little carried away!! Heehee Next close-up

I treated the lettering with a little TH spun suger destress stain and some create-a-shade pearl paint. This is a great combo.. So soft and delicate. Next close-up..

Just a close-up of the fussy cutting and the pretty butterfly. It actually has as metallic areas on it, but didn't show up for the pics.

Check back with me the end of this week, cuz I will be announcing my AWESOME news!!! Goodnight all and God Bless!!

*** New Box To Share***

Hello everyone! Boy has this month been a roller coaster for me! Let me tell ya.. My PC crashed and I was completely upset. It started having slow issues and then completely said Ca put. I had a awesome PC guy that came out and tried to fix it and it was a lost cause, but he did save everything!! Your a ROCK STAR Jack! Thanks soooo much from the bottom of heart!! Also wanted to send a shout out to my DH because he helped me get a new one!! Love you so much sweet heart! I have something else that is going on but it is a secret right now shhhh can't say anything. What I can do however is share one of my new boxes that I just got finished. Here are some pics..
Believe it or not I made that cameo! I have been checking out the Flying Unicorn site and found a awesome tute by Denise on how to make them! Here is the link. The flowers used is Prima, Petaloo and SD's. The nest, bird and butterfly is Prima also. The Swirls are ZVA, this is the first time for me to use ZVA and I think I like them a lot! Perfect size and no cutting them down. I loved that! The frame around the cameo is FX. The cut out in the back ground was made from a Cricut cart. The one that I yap about all the time. The Back ground PP is Glitz and the cardstock that I used was Brazzell. Ok for some more looks..
The Legs and name plate are Tim Holtz.. Some more pics..

I used the same Poem as a request for the person that I made the box for. Its a Christmas present for her aunt. Last view and this is a close up of the top.
Well I hope you like it.. Thnaks for taking the time to look!

Can't wait to share more with you, but for now its goodnight all and God Bless.

**Whispering Hope LO & New Blooms**

Hello everybody! I sware I haven't been slacking.. I have been making new flowers, vines and a new LO!
So this will probably be a pretty long post. Hope ya don't mind because I have some scrap'in eye candy for ya!
Ok, first I have been dying to show you guys these new blooms and vines that I have been making!! Have ya ever saw something and just new you had to give it a whirl? Well.. A while back while I was visiting a really cool blog I saw some really cool vines. It was by a very lovely lady named Angelica. Her vines are amazing!! Check them out here. I saw them and fell in love. I knew back then that I had to try to make me some. I got a few supplies and the supplies just sat untouched.
Fast foward to a few weeks back. I got this nagging idea that wouldn't leave me alone. It was a new flower design that I had thought up. I gave into my thoughts and started making them. By the time I had completed the first flower I thought to myself these would look pretty cool on a vine. So that is how it all started... While I was making them I thought they really need a punch of color. I had inked them and just wasn't really happy with the color. Don't get me wrong they was ok and all but really lacked the umph that I was needing for said beauties. Well pulled out my Lindy's mica's and applied them. SHAZAM!! I mean totally brought them to life!! Once I started making and coloring all caution went to the wind!! I was a vine making crazy person.. Then I thought these would look really cool as flowers so I made me some of them in all sizes! A few of my fave colors. I have desided to name them after the things and people that inspired me to do so. So I desided to name them "Lindy's Angelic Sweetheart mini vines" and "Lindy's Angelic Sweetheart Blooms". Angelica was the insparation and Lindy's and CTMH made them beauties come to life! Ok I will stop running my mouth now and show ya.. LOL

This one was the first one that I made. I used CTMH ink (hollyhock) and Lindy's Magical mica (Fuzzy Navel Peach) awesome color combo!! On the leaves I used CTMH ink (new england ivy) and Lindy's Moonshadow mist (Mystic Malachite). Everything except the stems started out as white card stock.

Ok this is when I started thinking make blooms too!! On these I used CTMH ink (twilight) and Lindy's mica (Sparkle Blue Reflections) got some close ups of each.

Check out the sparkle!! That is Lindy's that makes them just glow!!

Here is the vine.. I made mini vines because I thought hummm I don't really wanna cut it up if it is too big for the LO. So with 2 pieces I have more ways to use them.
You just gotta get your hands on some of Lindy's micas and mists!! I promise you won't be disappointed! Here is Lindy's Link and I'm sure if ya need a color of ink you can click the shop with me cart up above on the right and get ya some ink also.. But I am feeling sure that Lindy's will make any ink shine or they can also be used by themselves!

If you gals out there in cyber land want a tute on these leave me a comment and let me know, or better yet follow my blog that would be out of sight!!

Now for the LO!! Told ya this would be a long post!! Sorry..
Got My new swirly kit in and it worked soooo well with my new blooms! The kit for Oct is called "Midnight Waltz" Very very pretty!! I loved the sketch sooo much thought what the heck I'm gonna do it and enter it in the sketch challenge this month. This LO is of a close friend and Co worker. She has been going through a very tough time of late. I called this LO "Whispering Hope" because through her I can see hope even if sometimes its just a whisper. Girl I don't know how ya do it but you are such a insparation to me!

The Glitz Papers and ephemeria was awesome to work with in this LO! I love, love the colors these are some of my faves! The overlay on the pic is Kaisercraft, pearl swirls are Prima, and the punched edges are Martha punches, Cardstock is Bazzell. The vines and blooms are mine hee hee.. Ok for some closeups..

The circle piece is DA circle (I colored white with gesso and added CTMH ink (sunflower) and Lindy's mica (Angel Wings Gold) then applied some tulip pearl paint) and the butterfly is the cool ones that Lisa G. gives us at swirlydoos. Next closeup..
Closeups of the vines and blooms Colors used on the Blooms is CTMH ink (sunflower) and Lindy's (Angel Wings Gold) and on the vines is CTMH ink (Indian corn blue), and Lindy's (Sparkling Blue Reflections).. Next close up..

The bird is part of the Glitz "Vintage Blue" ephemeria pack in the kit we got for Oct. Last closeup..

The wording is also part of the Glitz "Vintage Blue" also the Bird cage...

Well thats it for now hope ya enjoyed a little of what I had to show ya and don't forget let me know if ya want that tute!! Girls gotta know that you gals are coming by.. Good night and God bless!!

**Pumpkins of the Past**

Hi everyone! Well I finally broke down and done it. I am playing along in the Round Robin Challenge over at Swirydoos. Been wanting to try it out for a while and finally done it. Starting to really get back to myself now and feeling much better. The LO is of my DS and the pumpkins that he use to get when we went to this really cool place with our church. I love fall and it is defantly one of my fave times of the year! From the colors of the trees to the wonderful temps we get here. I love it to bits! Got another challenge that I am gonna do, hopefully I will get it done in time. But for now here's this one..
We had to use something that was at least a year old on the LO. I choose to use some leaf doilies that I have hoarded for a long time. I had to tone down the sun on this LO because it is really dementional and casts a lot of shadows when the sun hits it. But let me tell ya it sparkels and shines! Let me gettcha some close ups and you can see..

I used one of my fave products to use and that would be Lindy's Micas and Sprays. I LOVE Lindy's and am sooo happy that Krissy over at Swirlydoos introduced me to them! (Thanks Krissy). Here is Lindy's link. I also used some Prima fall leaves and the Mums used is what my DM made. She did a awesome job! Now for more close ups..
The watch came in our Sept kit over at swirlydoos. Its from Prima as well..
The Pumpkins I made out of the Grandma's garden kit we got over at Swirlydoos. I also made swirlies for my pumpkins. I used the big pumpkin doily for the background of the large pumpkin.

More close ups of the center piece. I stamped and colored a Dusty Attice vine. The clock here is Prima also.
I found some Burlap ribbon at Wally World that I used also.
Lastly here is my title. I cut out a piece that came from our Sept kit at swirlydoos. Its PP from Prima. The stamps used is CTMH. You can see the Dusty Attic piece here a little better. I also used some fiber ribbon that is peeking through here and there. Thats it for now.. Got a lot to do today. Thanks for looking! Take care and God bless.

***Swirlyhues challenge***

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing well. I have been sick just about all month long. I'm just starting to get back on my feet from a bout with Shingles!! All I can say is nooo fun at all. My DS was my coach on getting myself back on my feet and going with this LO.. LOL I'm trying to figure out why he wanted me to enter this challenge but he was dead set that I enter it and even offered to make the flowers **still scratching head**. I did use his picture but I have done several LO with him?! He knows how much I would love to win because of the way awesome prize (Trish Ladouceur class kit). We had the this available to be purchased back in July, but funds was low so I had to let it go.. But I don't think that is really it either. I'm really thinking it is the fact if I win he will be back on the swirly blog!! I think it is his competition with his sister Hah! He wouldn't even wait for the sun to come out for me to take pictures and post! Noo it had to be done right NOW!!! I rather wait but did to appease him. Now for the details of this challenge click here. It will give ya all the info needed about this challenge and anyone can enter! Pretty cool huh? Well here is the LO and all of its details.
I hand stamped and colored just about every piece to this LO. I tried hard to stay in with the hues provided. Here are some close-ups.
The flowers was made using Lisa G.'s tute over at Swirlydoos click here for the tute. It's called Floraino Flower. I changed up the center some and used my new Cricut Cart to cut the flower out (so I could make them smaller) But for the most part its the same process. I also hand stamped and colored the feathers and peacock its a stamp set from CTMH (one of my faves!) the medallion piece I cut out with that same cartridge and colored it as well.. Was going for a patina look with it. The little bitty flowers was cut with the same cartridge. The inks used was CTMH, TH, and Lindy's. Ok next close-up...

Ok this is suppose to be a manlyish LO.. Sooo I pulled back some on the blooms and added more bling!! LOL The gems are this in this months kit over at Swirlydoos. They are Joelle's hit fix gems. I just used liquid glass to attach them. Man talking about fussy cutting wheew!! I flat did some fussy cutting and broke in my new Ingvild Bloom exacto knife which was this months tech kit as well.. Last close-up..

Last piece is the title.. This was colored and fussy cut as well.. The Paper that I cut it out of is Prima!! We got some way cool papers with this kit from Prima and Bo Bunny!!! They are super COOL! The (A) was made by cutting out the remains of a black alpha and color it in and cut it out as well. The wording is by Kand Company. The feathers are from the same CTMH stamp set and the really cool piece above the title was cut out using the same cartridge.. I really love this cartridge!!!! I haven't even touch the possiblities with it!!! More information on the cartridge is in the below post.. OK gotta go to Swirlydoos and post this challenge. Wish me err my son good luck LOL!! Goodnight and god bless.

** Serenity **

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a awesome holiday weekend last weekend. As for me well I was and still am sick. Better but it is still hanging on.. Went to the doc got a shot and a Zpac and well it still wants to hang on! Finally got the LO that I fully intended on having it done and posted last weekend, but this bronchitis had different plans for me! All well at least its better than it was and got the LO done now so its all good.
I used my new cricut cartridge from "Close to My Heart" and let me tell ya it is THE BOMB!!! I really am excited about it. For one thing, it has just about everything that I want in it. It is now and will be my go to cartridge. Yay CTMH and thank you!!! Ok Just had to get that off of my chest.. Now for the LO.
My DD just loves the color Purple and the new "Sonoma" Papers from CTMH item # X7143B well it fit her to the T. I did use one sheet of TH papers in the back its a resist sheet. I sprayed some Lindy's moon shadow mist on it "Pegleg Pete Purple". I really loved the whole family heirloom feel to this LO. Yes just about every design that is cut was using that wonderful Cricut cartridge called "Art Philosophy Collection" item # Z1686. The Large piece in the center which is layered 3 times. The beatiful piece below the pic of my DD. Even the Large and one small Purple blooms was made using this cartridge. The mat behind the photo isn't just a mat. It is a card that is in the cartridge that I used to hide my journaling. I really hate my own hand writing. My DM said that I should journal it in my hand writing. So I hid it heehe..
The name of my LO is basically what the journaling is. I used the "Serenity Prayer" and titled it "Serenity" because of my DD. She has struggled hard through school and has learning disablities that really gets in her way. She hates the fact that she has trouble and has always wanted to know why she is so differnet from the other kids. Well hopefully soon we will find out the true answer to this question. Please keep us in your prayers on that one! She was and has been of late really worring over her future. I had her to read this little card I keep that has this very prayer on it. The prayer goes like this.. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." At this time with that subject that is the best advise that I can give. I think that it is pretty good advise. Ok more pics and close ups..
This is a close up of the small bloom I made. For its center I used the flower that comes in the "Heirloom Assortment" item # Z1635. The dangles below the pic also come in this assortment. The beautiful Cameo is one that a sweet lady at a local store gave me. The background behind it is a stamp set that also has Cameo stamps as well. The stamp set is called "Sweet Moments" item # C1467. I can't wait to use it more see sooo many possiblities with it. Next pic..
I really loved how the blooms turned out!! The Hydrangeas are from HL. I got them when I was working on a challenge over at Swirlydoos. I desided that they needed to be used and would work perfect with this LO. The leaves and butterflies are ones that Lisa G. Has for us to use over at Swirlydoos. Here is the Link. They are fun to use and I use them A LOT!! Gotta give you a really good close up of those blooms. I have lovingly named them "Mum Roses" I think they look like a cross between the two different flowers so I thought it worked pretty nice.
I used the pp that came in "Sonoma" for the center and cs that is in the pack as well for the base. I used CTMH "smokey plum" ink and my little mixture of "Create-a-Shade pearl paint" and alcohol to color them with. The Lace that I used through out the LO came from walley world. I have found a lot of cool laces there. Ooh yeah on the photo I also used some of my stash of Dusty Attic that I love VERY much!!! Used Lindy's to color those pieces as well. Well I believe that about does it for now... Gonna be using that cartridge some more and show ya some more of the things it does. Take care and God bless!
